HOW WILL MY PUPPY LOOK AS AN ADULT?
Our yorkies weights are charted based on their birth weight & as they grow, so expected adult weight is an estimate only. We try our best to consider parents weight, ears & coats, past litters, and charting projection. Preciosa Yorkies makes no warranty as to the dog's size, coats, color or whether the ears of the dog will stand erect. I have been breeding for many years, and do my best to chart weights, but I cannot give a guarantee on adult size, ears & coats. Each one is genuinely unique, and we love them all.
To avoid low blood sugar/Hypoglycemia, Nutri-Cal or Honey should be given 3 times a day for the first week or more, as a precaution in preventing hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is a serious condition and can lead to death if not treated properly. Hypoglycemia is caused by low blood sugar it mainly occurs in toy breed dogs between the ages of 6 and 16 weeks. Infrequent meals is the leading cause. The first signs of hypoglycemia are listlessness and depression. They are followed by muscle weakness, vomiting and/or diarrhea, tremors (particularly facial tremors), and later convulsions, coma, and possibly death. The entire sequence of symptoms may not be noticeable. The puppy may simply appear to be sleepy or weak, wobbly, and jerky. You may find your puppy stiff, unable to coordinate, or in a coma. Hypoglycemia can occur without warning when a puppy is placed in a new home or during the shipping process. It might occur after a puppy misses a meal, becomes too cold, or plays too much. Food and water should be available at all times. Encouraging a new puppy to eat and drink is highly recommended. Consider the environment: If your puppy is stressed, like if you've recently moved, they may not be eating. Try establishing a routine and giving them time to adjust.
